Terms of work

Who we work for

Our services are offered to businesses only: shops, cafés, restaurants, studios, gyms, workshops, clinics, sole traders and professionals, of any size, buying a site for their trade or business. We don’t build sites for private, personal use.

The quote

Before any payment you get a written quote by email. It lists the plan, pages, features, rounds of changes, price, timeline and the Care that comes with it. The project starts when you accept the quote in writing; a reply by email or chat is enough. A quote is valid for 30 days. Nothing the AI assistant on this site says is an offer or a quote.

Prices

Prices are fixed and in euro. The price in the quote is the price you pay. Extra work is always quoted first and done only after you agree.

The free homepage preview

Each business can have one. We usually send it within 5 working days of receiving your answers, and it includes one round of changes. Its link stays open for 30 days. If you don’t approve it, you owe nothing. The preview is not handed over or used for anything else, and we delete it, with the material you sent, within 3 months.

Payment

You pay half when you approve the preview, and the other half when the site is ready, before it goes live on your domain. For each payment we email you a link to our payment page, where you pay through PayPal, in euro, with a PayPal account, by card, or with Apple Pay or Google Pay where available; if you pay from another currency, PayPal converts it. A discount code is entered on that page before the first payment; codes apply to project invoices, not to monthly Care, unless a code says otherwise. Each payment is due within 7 days of our request. If the deposit has not arrived 14 days after you approve the preview, the quote lapses.

Timeline

The timeline in your quote starts when we have both the deposit and all your content: text, photographs, prices, logo, and access to your booking app. Content that arrives late moves the date. If it has not arrived 30 days after the deposit, we agree a new date with you. If the launch is still waiting for your content 60 days after the deposit, the second half becomes due then; we finish and launch the site as soon as the content arrives.

Your content

You supply the content and confirm you have the right to use it. You are responsible for the accuracy of your prices, opening hours and claims, including any health claims. The privacy notice and legal notice we set up for your site are based on what you tell us; they are templates, not legal advice, so please check them. Translations are checked by you or a native speaker before they go live.

Changes

Your plan includes the number of rounds of changes listed in the quote. A round is one list of changes sent in one email. Further rounds and new features are quoted first.

Domain and ownership

The domain is registered in your name from day one. We buy it for you and, from the second year, renew it at cost and add the renewal to your invoice.

Your site runs in a dedicated Cloudflare account that we open and manage for you. We transfer the account to you whenever you ask, and when Care ends, within five working days and free of charge.

Once the final payment is made, the code, design and content made for your site are yours to use, change and move as you like. There is no fee to take your site elsewhere. Parts made by others, such as fonts, open-source code, booking widgets and stock photos, stay under their own licences.

We may reuse general techniques and code that are not specific to your site, and we may show your site in our portfolio unless you ask us not to.

Fixes after launch

For 12 months from launch, we fix free of charge anything we built that stops working as agreed, whether or not you have Care. This does not cover new pages or features, redesigns, changes to your content, or problems caused by changes made by others or by the services under Other services.

Care

Care is an optional monthly service; what each level includes and costs is on our pricing page and in your quote. Your first month of Care is free. After that, Care is invoiced month by month and carries on until you or we end it by email; it ends at the close of the month already paid, with nothing more to pay. Nothing is taken from your account automatically.

The small changes in Care are counted in minutes of work per month, and minutes not used in a month are not carried over. As long as your Care continues without a break, its monthly price does not go up; if you stop and start again later, the price at that time applies. If a Care invoice is still unpaid 14 days after a reminder, Care stops. When Care ends, we transfer the site account to you and the site stays online. Email kept in our web mail is exported to you and forwarded to an address you choose; the web mail and the editor are part of Care and end with it. We reply within one working day, Monday to Friday, unless your Care level promises sooner.

Referrals

When a business you recommend becomes a client, it gets 10% off its first project; this cannot be combined with other discount codes. Once that project is paid in full, you get one month of Care free (from when you start Care, if you don’t have it yet) and a personal code for 10% off one Care invoice, addition or change, valid for 12 months and usable only by you. Discounts and free months can’t be exchanged for cash.

Other services

Booking apps, Google Business Profile, PayPal and other payment providers, and domain registrars are run by their providers, under their own terms, fees and privacy rules. We connect them to your site, but we can’t control their outages, prices or policies.

Search engines

We build sites so that search engines can read them properly. No one can guarantee rankings or traffic on Google or any other search engine.

Data protection

While we manage your site account and web mail, we process your data and your customers’ data on your behalf, as your processor under a data processing agreement, which we send with your quote.

Stopping a project

You can stop at any time by email. Before the deposit, there is nothing to pay. After it, the deposit covers the work already done and is not refunded. If we cannot finish your site for reasons on our side, we refund the deposit in full. We may stop a project if a payment is still outstanding 14 days after a reminder.

Liability

We work with reasonable care. Our liability for a project is limited to the price of that project, except where the law does not allow a limit, such as for intent or gross negligence.

Their names, people, prices, timetables and offers are samples. They are not real businesses or clients, and nothing on them can be booked or bought.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the date at the top changes too. The version in place when you accept your quote is the one that applies to your project.
